Introduction
The WAG-7 is one of the most familiar electric freight locomotives of Indian Railways. These powerful locomotives have been working across India for many years, mainly hauling heavy freight trains such as coal, BOXN, BCN, container and other goods trains.
For Trainz players who enjoy Indian Railways freight operations, WAG-7 locomotives are a great addition to any route. They are especially useful for realistic freight activities, double-heading operations and long-distance goods train simulations.
The real WAG-7 is a 25 kV AC electric locomotive with a Co-Co wheel arrangement and around 5,000 HP continuous power. The locomotive has a maximum service speed of around 100 km/h, making it primarily a freight-hauling locomotive rather than a high-speed passenger locomotive.
WAG-7 Locomotives for Trainz
At VVS TRAINZ, we have created a collection of 46 WAG-7 locomotives representing locomotives from different Indian Railways electric loco sheds.
Instead of using only one generic WAG-7, this collection includes locomotives representing 23 different sheds. This gives Trainz players more variety when creating freight activities and Indian Railways operations.
The collection includes different road numbers and shed liveries so that players can use different WAG-7 locomotives throughout their Trainz routes.

23 WAG-7 Loco Sheds Included
The 46 WAG-7 locomotives in this collection represent the following sheds:
- Lallaguda
- Vijayawada
- Kazipet
- Kalyan
- Barddhaman
- Jamalpur
- Angul
- Khanalampura
- Lucknow
- Abu Road
- Bondamunda
- Erode
- Bokaro Steel City

Realistic WAG-7 Freight Operations in Trainz
The WAG-7 was designed mainly for heavy freight operation. Its high tractive effort and six-axle Co-Co configuration make it suitable for hauling heavy goods trains.
In Trainz, these locomotives can be used with many different Indian Railways freight wagons, including:
- BOXN
- BOXNHL
- BOXNAL
- BCNA
- BCNHL
- BTPN
- Container wagons
- Other Indian Railways goods stock
They can also be used for single-loco and twin-loco operations, depending on the type of freight activity being created.
WAG-7 Specifications
The WAG-7 has a 5000 HP continuous rating, a weight of approximately 123 tonnes, and a maximum speed of around 100 km/h. It uses high-adhesion Co-Co bogies and Hitachi traction motors.
Night Animation Mode

In my website models, you can find night reastic animation as you seen in real world like in real world indian railways there is signal exchange system with green light between locopilots and gaurd, Station master and Locopilots , Gaurd and Station master etc.,.
