Introduction
Welcome to the Golconda Express Trainz Simulator activity, where you will operate 17201 Guntur Junction to Secunderabad Junction Golconda Express from Khammam to Warangal.
For this activity, you will be driving the 22777 Vijayawada (BZA) Shed WAP-4 locomotive with LHB coaches. All the locomotives and coaches used in this activity are available on our website.
The activity is divided into two parts. Each part includes scheduled stops, crossings with passenger and freight trains, overtaking, signal clearances, and several realistic railway movements along the route.
The first part takes you from Khammam to Mahabubabad, while the second part continues from Mahabubabad to Warangal.
Part 1 – Khammam to Mahabubabad
The first part of the Golconda Express activity starts at Khammam Station and continues up to Mahabubabad Station. Once you reach Mahabubabad, the second part of the activity will load automatically.
Between Khammam and Mahabubabad, the Golconda Express has scheduled halts at Dornakal Junction and Garla.
There are also several interesting railway movements along the route, including freight train crossings, passenger train crossings, overtaking, and trains entering and leaving stations.
Khammam to Dornakal Junction
After departing from Khammam, the Golconda Express runs towards Dornakal Junction.
Before reaching Dornakal Junction, the train passes Papatpally and Mallemadugu stations. These stations are not scheduled stops for the Golconda Express, so you will pass them at around 100–120 km/h.
During this section, the Golconda Express will also encounter and cross two freight trains, adding more traffic and activity to the route.
Busy Movements at Dornakal Junction
Dornakal Junction is one of the most interesting sections of this activity.
When the Golconda Express approaches Dornakal Junction, a coal-loaded freight train from Manugur arrives on a parallel route. This creates a realistic railway crossing scenario as both trains approach the junction.
At the same time, a parcel van train is departing from Dornakal Junction while these trains are entering the station.
As the Golconda Express reaches its platform for the scheduled halt, another empty BOXN freight train enters Dornakal Junction. With several trains moving around the junction at the same time, this becomes one of the busiest and most visually interesting moments of the activity.
After completing the scheduled halt at Dornakal Junction, the Golconda Express continues towards Garla.
Dornakal Junction to Garla
Between Dornakal Junction and Garla, the Golconda Express meets 18112 Tatanagar Weekly SuperFast Express.
This section provides another realistic passenger train crossing as you continue towards the next scheduled stop.
Garla Station
The Golconda Express arrives at Garla Station for a scheduled halt of approximately one minute.
After departing Garla, the train skips Gundratimadugu Station.
At Gundratimadugu, the Golconda Express overtakes a parcel van freight train hauled by a WAG-7 locomotive. This overtaking movement adds another interesting operational situation to the activity.
After passing Gundratimadugu, the Golconda Express continues towards Mahabubabad, which is the final station of Part 1.
Once you reach Mahabubabad, the next part of the activity will automatically load.
Part 2 – Mahabubabad to Warangal
The second part of the Golconda Express Trainz activity begins at Mahabubabad Station.
After receiving clearance from the Station Master, the Golconda Express prepares to depart Mahabubabad. As you receive the signal to proceed, Krishna Express arrives at Mahabubabad Station for its scheduled halt.
After departing Mahabubabad, the Golconda Express continues towards Kesamudram.
Mahabubabad to Kesamudram
The first station skipped after Mahabubabad is Tadlapusapally.
The Golconda Express then continues towards Kesamudram Station, where another interesting railway situation is waiting.
A freight train is already standing on the main line at Kesamudram, waiting for clearance. However, because the Golconda Express is a passenger train, it receives priority and proceeds through the station.
After completing its movement through Kesamudram, the journey continues towards Warangal.
Kesamudram to Nekkonda
After departing Kesamudram, the Golconda Express skips Intakanne Station.
This section also features a beautiful curve, giving you a good view of the train and the surrounding route while travelling towards Nekkonda.
The next scheduled stop is Nekkonda Station, where the Golconda Express makes a scheduled halt of approximately one minute.
After completing the halt, the train departs Nekkonda and continues towards its final destination, Warangal.
Nekkonda to Warangal
The final section of the activity takes you from Nekkonda to Warangal.
Between Nekkonda and Warangal, the Golconda Express skips Yelgur and Chintalapally stations.
At both stations, freight trains are standing in the loop lines while the Golconda Express passes through the main line.
Near Yelgur Station, the Golconda Express meets 12706 Guntur Intercity SuperFast Express. In this activity, the train is being hauled by a WAP-7 locomotive that has been brought in as a rescue locomotive because the other WAP-7 has failed.
Further ahead, at Chintalapally Station, you will encounter a coal-loaded freight train hauled by three WAG-7 locomotives heading towards the Khammam side.
These crossings and railway movements make the final section of the activity more interesting as you approach Warangal.
Arrival at Warangal
Finally, after passing through the remaining section of the route, the Golconda Express reaches Warangal Station, completing the journey from Khammam to Warangal.
This activity combines passenger train operations with realistic railway traffic, including freight trains, passenger train crossings, overtaking, station halts, loop-line movements, signal clearances, and rescue locomotive operations.
